A young San Francisco couple desired a Japanese-inspired sanctuary within their small backyard. In our curvilinear design, we connected the existing wood staircase with a sweeping line of bluestone pavers, set among wispy grasses and boulders. A heated Helios bench adds warmth and comfort around a central fire pit. Tall screening plants provide a lush backdrop for the entire space.
