This young Oakland couple wanted to use their large front yard for more than just parking — they wanted a place to gather with friends and spend time outdoors. After learning they were both huge Star Wars fans, a clear concept emerged: a design loosely inspired by the desert landscape of Tatooine. The paving, concrete bench, and fire pit take on a subtle futuristic geometry, set within a palette of low-water desert and Mediterranean plantings.
